HOPE Center collects donations for its SAF-T farm

The Alle-Kiski HOPE Center offers a Shelting Animals and Families Together (SAF-T) kennel for victims of domestic violence who are fleeing abuse with their pets.

The kennel allows families to bring their pets with them safely to an on-site kennel during their stay at the shelter. Supplies needed include small bowls for cats and dogs, canned food for cats and kittens, dry food for kittens, small litter boxes, clumping litter, toys for small cats, beds for small cats, carriers for small to medium cats, leashes for dogs, beds for small to medium dogs, flea and tick control for cats and dogs and gift cards for PetSmart and Petco. All items must be new.

Turkey Trot to close roads

The Kiski Valley Turkey Trot 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run Benefiting the Kiski Region Youth Network will begin Thursday at 9:00 a.m. at Kunkle Park, 985 Pine Run Church Road, Washington Township.

Residents are reminded that Pine Run Road in Kunkle Park at the Watson Road intersection will be closed during the run, as well as Pine Run back roads, except for emergency vehicles. For more details, visit kvturkeytrot.com.


Holiday party planned at Knead Community Cafe

A Graze Party to benefit the Knead Community Café, New Kensington, will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on December 11 at the café, 1011 Barnes St.

Admission is $ 50 and includes appetizers and a buffet. Entertainment will be provided by Vida Loves Donnie Duo. BYOB.
