Clergy and members of several Orthodox churches gathered at the Steubenville Marina observation dock on Sunday for a blessing from the Ohio River delivered as part of the feast of the Holy Theophany and a remembrance of the baptism of Jesus. -Christ in the Jordan. Reverend Andrew Nelko of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in Weirton, Most Reverend Stavrophor Rajko Kosic of the Serbian Eastern Orthodox Church of the Holy Resurrection in Steubenville, Reverend Michael Ziebarth of the Greek Orthodox Church of the Life-giving Fountain of Martins Ferry, Rev. John Kopcha of St. Andrew’s Orthodox Church in Mingo Junction, Rev. Frank Milanese of All Saints Greek Orthodox Church in Weirton and Rev. Demetrios Tskikouris of St. John’s Divine Greek Orthodox Church in Wheeling. During the service, three ice crosses, representing the Holy Trinity, were thrown into the river.
